Question:
I use Free Agent, and like it. However, when I select "Get new headers in selected groups" it downloads the message bodies, whether I want them or not.

This isn't a major problem; I'm not one of those wimps who skips posts, so I download all the message bodies anyway. However, I'd be interested to know if there's an option for downloading only the headers.

Group -> Default Properties or Group -> Properties. Choose the Retrieving tab and take it from there.

...or use Online -> Get New Headers in Selected Groups or Online -> Get New Headers in Subscribed Groups.

Actually, I suspect this was Tony's problem because the Get New Headers will also retrieve message bodies unless the group properties have been set otherwise. I think what most people eventually find out about Agent is how versatile it is, and the help pages aren't bad either. It's not completely intuitive at first (although still pretty good) but once you find out about the group settings being in a different place (under the Group menu) to the main settings (under the Options menu) it suddenly becomes a lot more logical to use.
